Summer of Love Update

It’s only been three weeks since the launch, but our Summer of Love Campaign is in full swing! The staff at FMC has been working hard to push the word out, and we’ve already hit 15% of our goal of $30,000. A big shoutout to our “Hall of Famers” who have helped make this possible! Our Executive Director is so pumped that she’s offered to buy us treats if we can encourage you all to help us hit the 20% mark by next week (thanks Lissa!).
During these lean ‘dog days’ of summer, we really appreciate folks making contributions. Even if it’s just a buck or two, (Someone’s dog actually donated their bone allowance this month — $20 bucks — for real!) it’s money our small but mighty organization really needs right now. If you love music and the FMC staff, show us some LUV and head on over to our donations page.
As for the rest of the summer, we’ve got some fun events up our sleeves. The staff is working hard to create some rockin’ parties to bring music lovers together an d celebrate our birthday. We’ve been testing cupcakes, rocking out Instagram, and preparing for an amazing show with Joe Uehlin this weekend. He’s generously agreed to donate the proceeds from his Woody Guthrie tribute concert to FMC, and we couldn’t be happier. And we should be happy, after all: FMC is turning 12! So come celebrate with us on August 16th as we say goodbye to our childhood years and embrace the teenage dream!
Stay tuned for more information from the Summer of Love. And don’t forget to visit our donation page to help the Future of Music fight for musicians for another 12 years!
