The good news: Washington, DC has hundreds of hotels, and deals abound for those who seek them. The bad news: October is a very busy month for the city, and hotel rooms are both expensive and hard to come by.
Hotels
FMC has reserved a block of rooms at the Georgetown University Hotel and Conference Center at a special discounted rate. The hotel has offered conference attendees the chance to stay on location for $129/night on Sunday October 2, and $179/night for Monday October 3 through Tuesday October 4 (prices do not include tax and other charges). These rooms will go fast at such a low rate, so secure your reservation on their website. Reservations must be guaranteed with a first night room deposit or with a major credit card. Check-in at the conference center hotel is at 4:00 pm, with check-out at 11:00 am; early arrivals and late departures can be accommodated via the front desk. The hotel is a non-smoking facility.
We recommend you use the website to reserve your room but you can also make reservations by calling the Hotel and Conference Center at 202.687.3200 and identifying yourself as attending the “Future of Music Coalition Summit 2011” event with the reservations desk.
Additionally, here’s a Google map that includes numerous hotel options near Georgetown’s campus and throughout the surrounding areas:
