Washington, DC – Effective April 1, 2009, attorney and artist advocate Ann Chaitovitz transitions from her role as Executive Director of Future of Music Coalition to a consultant position on key legal policy issues, and will rejoin FMC’s Advisory Board. FMC will continue its work under the leadership of Interim Executive Director Jean Cook.
“I’ve been impressed with FMC since I first encountered them nearly a decade ago,” said Chaitovitz. “Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to work with FMC in one capacity or another, and I’m honored to have served as their Executive Director. I look forward to maintaining a productive relationship with FMC as we fight for fair artist compensation and access in an evolving music landscape.”
“Ann’s deep knowledge and tireless commitment has helped the organization effectively advocate for musicians on a range of critical issues – and not only during her tenure as Executive Director,” said Interim Executive Director and former Deputy Director Jean Cook. “She has been a steadfast friend and partner to FMC for nearly a decade, and we look forward to continuing our work together.”
“We’re grateful for Ann’s expertise and guidance in the course of her time with FMC,” said Board President and Co-Founder Michael Bracy. “I know she will continue to play an important leadership role in advocating for artists in the complicated arena of copyright law in a digital age.”
