FMC Loves Local: Inaugural Local Showcase at Policy Summit 2011

Since you read our blog, you know that FMC really digs local music, and we have some awesome programming at Policy Summit 2011 exploring the ways artists, fans and governments across the country are creating sustainable cultural communities. We decided to honor this commitment to local artists by partnering with ReverbNation and Listen Local First for this year’s Summit rock show: a unique local showcase highlighting up-and-coming talent from our own backyard.
To kick off the Summit on Sunday, October 2, FMC, ReverbNation, and Listen Local First will present a free Local Music Showcase at IOTA Club and Café in Arlington, VA. Participants in the showcase will have the unique opportunity to perform for a crowd of engaged music industry folks – managers, entrepreneurs, technologists, policymakers, academics, attorneys, students, fans, and fellow musicians.
ReverbNation members in the DC-MD-VA area, this is where you come in. Want in on this killer opportunity? Apply here to be considered for the showcase. Deal not sweet enough already? Each of the four acts in the showcase will also receive free admission for up to four band members to the 2011 Future of Music Coalition Policy Summit at Georgetown University on October 3 & 4.
The showcase is just around the corner; the application window closes Friday, September 23.
Rock on. We’ll see you in October.
